Michigan Insider: Updated Class of 2020 Player Rankings (April)
Throughout the year we have traveled across the state to showcases and games. The fall/winter have proved valuable for many 2020 prospects, with many names coming off the board to some of the top programs around the nation. This fall followed suit and we were able to spot numerous other talented prospects within the class. Below we will take a look at “What’s New At The Top”, "The Risers" and the top uncommitted prospects available.

What's New AT THE TOP
At the top of the rankings you see several prospects off the board committed to Big 10 and ACC schools, several others will represent Team Michigan at the Future Games this summer.
RHP Ryan Zimmer (Michigan), claims the number one spot, followed by OF Noah Stout (Clemson), and LHP Logan Wood (Michigan), SS Parker Pilat (Wake Forest) round out the top four spots on the rankings. SS Werner Blakely and SS Dylan Stanton both had impressive performances moving to the up in the rankings and earning the right to represent Team Michigan at the Future Games.
Werner Blakely SS / 3B / Detroit Edison, MI / 2020Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 2
Blakely is a 6-foot-3, 170 pound highly projectable prospect has one of the higher ceilings in the class. Swings from the left side with a smooth stroke, the ball jumps off his bat working the pull side. In the field glides to the ball showing soft hands and a quick arm release. Throws 85 mph across the diamond and has an 89 mph exit velocity. |
Dylan Stanton SS / 2B / Gull Lake, MI / 2020Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Stanton is a 6-foot-1, 180 pound strong bodied prospect with a developed frame. Hard worker who performs. At the plate squares the ball up consistently showing a good feel for the sweet spot, along with some power. Has solid measurables and skill to match. Runs a 6.94 60 time, 80 mph across the diamond and a 92 mph exit velocity. |
The Risers
Brian Ross RHP / OF / Saginaw Swan Valley, MI / 2020Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 6
RHP Brian Ross catapulted up the rankings after a big time performance amongst the state’s top players at the Pre Season All State. 6-foot-7, 195 pound long lanky prospect has a long stride throwing from a high ¾ arm angle seeming as if he’s on top of the batter when he delivers due to his length. Fastball sits 83-85 mph along with a change up and curve. |
Connor Schuman SS / 2B / Mattawan, MI / 2020Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 7
SS Connor Schuman is a 5-foot-10, 150 pound middle infield prospect has some of the best hands in the state. Moves well to the ball showing good hip mobility to work through the ball throwing across the infield 80 mph. At the plate is a top of the order guy who shows gap to gap ability. |
Kameron Arnold OF / RHP / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2020Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 5
OF Kameron Arnold is a 6-foot-1, 175 pound athletic prospect has an athletic frame. Two sport varsity athlete playing both football and baseball. Comes from an athletic family, his older brother played football at Indiana. Arnold patrols the OF with foot quickness and good jumps. Shows some pop at the plate, natural athlete who is currently raw but has big upside. |
