Updated Class of 2014 Rankings

After a long summer, PBR Ohio has updated the rankings for the Class of 2014.

The changes start at the top with Moeller standout Zack Shannon taking over the top spot. Shannon, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect, made an early commitment to The Ohio State University this past winter. In the spring, he lived up to the accolades as a middle of the order bat for Moeller, the Division I state champion. When the summer started, he picked up where he left off with the Midland Redskins. The big, talented athlete shows some raw potential on the mound, but his bat will be his key to the next level as he eventually ends up as a corner outfielder or first baseman.

Shortstop Riley Mahan, a teammate of Shannon's at Moeller, takes over the second spot on our rankings. The left-handed hitting Mahan helped anchor the left side of the infield for Moeller during their state championship run this spring. After a break out sophomore season and tremendous summer showing, Mahan has already begun to collect offers from schools in the Midwest and South and will continue to do so until he makes his final decision.

The remaining top ten is rounded out by Kilbourne right-handed pitcher Jacob Niggemeyer (OSU recruit); St. Xavier catcher Jordan McDonough (OSU recruit); Midview right-handed pitcher and short stop Cody Callaway; Mentor outfielder Caleb Potter; Mentor right-handed pitcher Kade McClure; Gahanna Lincoln two-way prospect Evan White; Mason right-handed pitcher Chris Martin; and West Holmes left-handed pitcher Butch Baird.
