Illinois’ Class of 2013 may not be the strongest the state has produced recently, but this crop of seniors continues to show incredible depth from top to bottom. In the last couple months, we’ve seen hundreds more 2013 players.

Several prospects have made big leaps in their games, while others were relatively unknown heading into the fall. All the new revelations are now reflected in the updated and expanded Class of 2013 Illinois player rankings.

The top 10 remains intact, with RHP Andy Honiotes (Geneva HS) leading the way at No. 1. Following Honiotes are: RHP/INF Ryne Roper (Harrisburg HS), OF Jordan Getzelman (Prairie Ridge HS), OF Corey Ray (Simeon HS), RHP/3B Keith Lehmann (Lyons Township HS), C Brent Gibbs (Alton HS), C Ryan Lidge (Barrington HS), RHP Zach Burdi (Downers Grove South HS), OF Anthony Ray (St. Rita HS), RHP/INF Kevin Smith (Lincoln-Way North HS), C Chuckie Robinson (Danville HS) and OF Colin Lyman (Huntley HS).

The biggest rises in the 2013 class is RHP Brian Jestice (Fremd HS), who climbed to No. 30 overall after he put on a show at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase, where he touched 91 mph twice and sat at 89 mph. Jestice recently committed to Evansville.

LHP Joey Marciano (Clemente HS) is another who saw his stock skyrocket, going from unranked to No. 35 in Illinois. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound left-hander opened eyes at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October when he sat 87-88 with his fastball while showcasing a big 12/6 breaking ball. Shortly after, Marciano committed to John A. Logan JC.

Athletic outfielders Mike Farnan (Stagg HS; No. 57) and David Matthews (Clemente HS; No. 60) also went from unranked to top 60 prospects after the Unsigned Senior event.

There are several other players who made significant leaps over the last two months.

See for yourself. A look at the top 220 prospects in Illinois’ Class of 2013.
