Carmel’s Tony Giannini is the top unsigned catcher in the 2014 class and ranked No. 23 in Indiana.  Giannini has attended multiple PBR events including the Top Prospect Games at I.U. this summer. 

The 5-foot-11, 195 pound catcher is solid behind the plate with a strong arm (80 mph) from the crouch.  He shows quick feet behind the plate with a quick release.  His pop times are consistently between 2.00-2.01.

At the plate, Giannini possesses good bat speed, producing an exit velo of 88 mph.  The unsigned senior has an athletic approach at the plate and gets to extension.  Giannini runs well for a catcher, running a 7.20 60.
