Robert Harrison is a 6-foot-1 190-pound right handed pitcher from Wynne High School. He has an athletic build that projects to get better. He works from a high ¾ arm slot with a short quick arm action. He has smooth rhythm and comes to a controlled balance point. He commands his fastball on glove side with velocity of 82-84 mph. The fastball was heavy with late sink. He commands his curveball for strikes. It had a 11/5 shape with sharp movement he threw it at 72-73 mph, besides having good shape it maintained its deception due to throwing it at near fastball arm speed. His change-up is a work in progress, with little movement and velocity readings of 71 mph. If he will lengthen his arm action and have consistent extensions, I believe his velocity will increase. His mound presence and his ability to pitch inside to right-hander hitters makes him ready to pitch when he steps on campus.
Harrison has had much success during his high school career. As a junior he was an all-conference and all-state selection in the 5A classification. He received these honors for great season he had. He logged 56 and 2/3 innings with 67 punch outs and 1.61 ERA. The strike outs were impressive but the number that stands out to me is the 15 walks.
