Unsigned Senior Spotlight: OF/RHP John Dominguez Jr.
March 31, 2020
Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season in limbo, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. This spring, we will be spotlighting several uncommitted seniors to help them get the exposure they need to play at the next level in 2021.
Next up is uncommitted 2020 OF/RHP John Dominguez Jr. (Charlotte). An athletic 6-foot-1, 190 pound outfielder that really stood out at the JUCO Super Showcase. Dominguez displayed an arm up to 90 mph from the outfield and was sitting in the mid to high 80's on the mound. He should have an impact at the next level as a two-way player.

Scouting Report
12/19/19
Dominguez opened eyes during the showcase portion of the event. He ran a 7.08 60 showcasing athleticism and enough speed and then clocked in at 90 mph from the outfield to display the arm strength and control. On the mound, Dominguez relied on that athleticism as he coiled into his windup and fired the hips which then created space for the upper body and arm to snap forward. He is in tune with his body enough to create torque in the torso for optimal arm speed forward. The command was also impressive for someone with such a fast arm and at 83-85 mph on the fastball, there is much more in the tank down the road.
