Today’s unsigned senior spotlight highlights Mount Carmel HS left handed pitcher Jeremy Kravetz. Kravetz solidified himself as the Caravan ace last season on a team that was ranked No. 1 in the state for most of the season.
In 2012 Kravetz posted an undefeated record of 6-0 record with a 2.20 ERA. He showed the ability to control the zone as demonstrated by his 11 walks to 69 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched.
Head baseball coach Brian Hurry said, "Jeremy's ability to locate his fastball and throw his off-speed stuff for a strike in any count make him one of the top returning pitchers in the area. And his make-up is solid. He is tough, competitive and hates to lose."
Kravetz is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound left-handed pitcher who has a short arm action and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Kravetz commands the strike zone with three pitches, all with good deception. His repertoire consists of an 80-83 mph fastball with arm side run, a 63-64 mph breaking ball, and a 70-74 mph changeup that exhibited fade down in the zone. Kravetz’s changeup looks to be a legitimate out pitch at the next level.
2013 should be an exciting year for Kravetz as he looks to continue his unbeaten record and lead the Caravan to another stellar season.
