Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Jagen Millspaugh, C, Oak Hill HS



Jagen Millspaugh is a 6-foot-1, 205 pound unsigned senior catcher. Behind the plate he receives the ball well and showcased a pop time of 2.2's along with good arm strength with carry at 77 mph. From the left side of the plate, he gets to extension producing good pop, and has projectable power.

PBR: As you enter your senior year of HS baseball, where are you currently in the recruiting process?

Jagen: I have visited a couple JUCO schools in Illinois, Heartland and Parkland, I have talked to Bellarmine (KY), Eastern IL, and Indiana Wesleyan. I would like to go to a JUCO, but a small DI, DII, or even a solid program NAIA would be great.

PBR: What schools are you most interested in right now, and why?
Jagen: Parkland, Eastern IL, IPFW, IU, and I like the idea of playing south at a JUCO in FL or TX.

PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?
Jagen: Foot work while throwing to second and my homerun power numbers. I’m pretty good with hitting for doubles and my arm strength behind the plate.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer, how do you feel playing for them helped you?
Jagen: My summer team was the Indiana CageRats, we played a very high level of competition all summer.

PBR: What preparation are you doing now for the upcoming high school season?
Jagen: I just finished up football season, where I was a first team CIC linebacker, so now I am weight training, throwing long toss and speed training 4 days a week and going to Pendleton on Mondays to work with Michael Shirley to help improve my game for my senior season.

PBR: What are your goals for the upcoming 2013 season?
Jagen: Goals for myself are to continue to improve on my personal game and to help my team to succeed while keeping good character and leadership. Team goals are to win CIC conference and win State.

PBR: What is your fondest memory or highlight from your 2012 baseball season (High School or Summer)?
Jagen: Best memory of last year would have to be going to East Cobb to play baseball, it was an incredible experience.
