Today we take a look at unsigned senior Clay Barton.  Barton is a
6-foot, 180-pound catcher from Montgomery County HS.  He shows
good receiving and blocking skills with a quick glove to hand transfer.
His throws from the crouch registered at 72 mph with a top pop time of 2.10.

At the plate, Barton hits from a slightly open stance with some slight uppercut in his swing path.  He shows looseness in his swing with good barrel whip through the zone and good hand finish.  He shows the ability to drive the ball with some pop in his bat.

Look for Barton, along with outfielder Sam Lee (Evansville recruit), to provide solid senior leadership on the field for the Indians this spring as they come off a 22 win season in 2012.
