Today’s unsigned senior spotlight is Mitchell Hanson. Hanson is a senior catcher from Montello HS. He has been contributing to the varsity squad ever since his freshman year.

Unfortunately Hanson had to miss his entire sophomore season due to injury. However, he persevered and bounced back in his junior year to earn all-district honorable mention

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound catcher helped lead Montello to a 10-2 conference championship in 2012 as well as a unanimous selection as first team all-conference catcher in the Northern Trailways Conference.

Coach Hanson said, "Mitchell is the best defensive catcher I have coached in my twelve years as a head coach.  Mitchell's ability to block the ball and throw runners out helped keep runners out of scoring position and keep runners from scoring from third.  This is a big reason why we were able to win a lot of close games last season and win a conference title."
