Unsigned Senior Spotlight: C Jack Jonota
September 27, 2018
On Oct. 7, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the fall’s Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to next week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.
The next prospect who’s earned some added attention at the start of this fall is C Jack Jonota (Stevenson). The Patriots backstop is coming off a jam-packed summer where our staff had the pleasure of watching him play at three invite-only showcases: Top Prospect (both Chicago and Milwaukee), as well as Senior Games. Next Sunday at The MAX, the strong 5-foot-8 catcher will be among those in attendance. Jonota is headed to the Unsigned Senior Showcase as one of the few ranked prospects in his state’s class, and has appeared on the past two iterations of Illinois’ 2019 class rankings. His sterling defense makes him one of the state's top uncommitted catchers.
