Today we catch up with Michael Bainbridge, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound, 3B/RHP from Marian Catholic HS.

"Bainbridge is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound athlete who impressed both as a position player and on the mound. Bainbridge especially impressed at the plate, where he showcased a loose, easy left-handed swing. Bainbridge has a relaxed plate approach, and takes a short path to the baseball. He exhibited excellent rhythm and balance throughout his swing, as the ball jumped off his bat with backspin carry. Bainbridge, who ran a 7.29 60, also showed well in the infield, demonstrating a solid arm strength (77 mph) and soft hands. On the mound, Bainbridge was also impressive. The right-hander demonstrated solid feel for three pitches and a smooth, clean delivery.  He had good mound presence and used his quick arm to deliver 81-82 mph fastballs.  Bainbridge also threw a 67-69 mph curveball that flashed sharp 12/6 break, and a 69-71 mph changeup."

PBR: Have you ever attended a Prep Baseball Report event?  If so what were your impressions of the event?
I have attended the Underclassmen invite for the class of 2014 and 2015 and will be attending more events this summer.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player?
My biggest strength would have to be my hitting because I have always been a good hitter and my leadership could be equally as good. I was named captain of my sophomore baseball team along with David Calderon.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what are you most excited about this summer?
I play for the 16u Crete Cyclones and I am most excited about being able to be getting the chance to play teams from other countries. 

PBR: What are your goals both individually and for your summer team for the rest of spring and summer?
My goals for myself are to get stronger physically and mentally. I want to hit better in the summer then I did in the spring. Our team goal is to win the Pony world series and win every tournament we have entered.

PBR: What is your most memorable moment in baseball so far in your life?
The most memorable moment in my baseball career would probably have to be when I threw my first of three career no hitters.  I don’t really go for memories because they will just happen.

PBR: What are your stats so far in the High School season?
Batting: .400, 2 homeruns, 20 RBI, 30 BB, 25 SB, 4 triples, and 5 Doubles

Pitching: 4-3, 3.9 era, 55 Ks, 20 BB, 45 IP

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter/pitcher that you have faced?
The toughest hitter I faced would have to be Quintin Sefcik. He had the longest at bat of the year against me. 12 pitch at bat but I ended up striking him out.

The toughest pitcher would have also had to been Quintin. He had a lot of speed on his fastball.  I ended up hitting a double in the gap against him.
