Underclass Spotlight: Class of 2015 Michael LaDriere from SLUH
January 2, 2013
Michael LaDriere, OF, MIF, SLUH, Class of 2015:
LaDriere is a long and lanky 6-foot, 150-pound player with a high ceiling as he continues to fine-tune his talents. He looks to be an athletic player who excels at multiple positions.
As a middle infielder, LaDriere is quick to the ball, showing range to both his forehand and backhand sides, with a quick transfer and accurate throws to first (75-mph). In the outfield, Ladriere shows athleticism to the ball, and has controlled movements while consistently playing through the ball and a top throw of 78-mph. With his frame and speed, he projects more as an outfielder.
At the plate, LaDriere has a balanced stance with a short stride and some rhythm with his swing. His bat takes a short path to the ball with a level swing and the ability to use all fields. As he continues to fill out his frame, he may find some power in his swing.
LaDriere also showed some speed with a 5.14 40 and 4.52 home to first.
