Underclass Spotlight: Class of 2015 Bryan Nolan from SLUH
January 3, 2013
Bryan Nolan, OF, LHP, SLUH, Class of 2015:
Nolan is a wiry 6-foot-1, 135-pound OF/LHP who, as he continues to fill out his frame, should see progression over the next few years.
In the outfield, Nolan takes quick routes to the ball, and gets in good position to throw to his target. His throws were all on a line, with a top throw of 76-mph.
On the mound, the left handed throwing Nolan comes from a high ¾ arm slot with long and loose arm action. His fastball (73-74 mph) was consistently thrown for a strike with slight arm side movement. He also threw a breaking ball with 1-to-7 shape down in the zone and a 66-68 mph change up with late glove side action.
At the plate, the left handed hitter has a balanced stance with a long, level swing that finishes uphill. At times, his hands dropped with his stride, when he kept them up, his swings were shorter and more consistent.
Nolan ran a 5.41 40 and 4.60 home to first.
