Underclass Showcase: Stats Posted

The Prep Baseball Report Underclass Showcase took place on Sunday, October 26th indoors at the MAX in McCook, IL. This event featured 2017 and 2018 graduates, and acts as an identifier for January’s Underclass Invitational and next summer’s prestigious Future Games for the class of 2017. Both events are invitation only.

90 underclass prospects came together to show off their skills in front of the PBR Scouting Staff. Several prospects impressed that we had not yet laid eyes on.
Today we’ll take a look at the top statistical performers from this year’s Underclass Invitational. CLICK HERE for complete statistics in PDF Format.
Kenwood’s Taylor Jackson ran the top 60 time of the event at 6.92 seconds. Manteno outfielder/middle infielder Easton Bertrand impressed with his all-around game (6.98 runner, 86 mph from the outfield, 78 mph exit velocity).
Oswego East’s Dylan Jones touched 87 mph on his final pitch during bullpens, shows arm strength from the outfield as well, and also impressed with the bat during batting practice.
Cameron Hupe (Mount Carmel) and Austin Marozas (Plainfield South) both project well on the mound and were up to 86 mph.
Jacobs’ Mike Addante is a premium defender in centerfield, ran a 7.00 60, threw 83 mph from the outfield, and is a table setter at the top of a lineup.
Mount Carmel’s Zion Pettigrew threw 85 mph across the infield, and looks to be a premium defender in the middle of the diamond, while also impressing with 84 mph exit velocity.
St. Laurence’s Tommy Farrell impressed with his legitimate two-way ability, running a 7.06 60, touching 82 mph off the mound from the left-side, and producing 87 mph exit velocity.
