We continue to take a position by position analysis of the Underclass Games today by looking at the eight outfielders that were present at the event. A few showed off some legit arm strength from the outfield as well as handling the bat well. Some of those strong arms also jumped on the mound to showcase their stuff on the bump as well. Here are the outfielders:

 

Banks Langston: RHP/OF, (2023) Russellville, AL. 5-foot-11, 160-pound athletic frame. In the box, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 83 mph. Began in an open stance with a smooth load, then used a leg kick just before his swing. Had upward swing plane, and his bat speed was above average. Through his round he found some barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Advanced from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 87 mph; showed a clean exchange and athletic footwork. Had an-over-the-top slot and a long arm action with consistent accuracy to the base. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.87. Athletic on the mound, showed a consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed Showed easy effort in his delivery. Has an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 82-83 mph and topped out at 84 mph; shows very consistent control. Threw a sharp curveball (70-71) with sweeping action and very consistent control. 

Pierce Edwards: C/OF, (2023) Russell County, AL. 5-foot-10, 160-pound solid frame. In the box, Edwards recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in an open stance with a compact load, then uses a small leg kick to start his swing. Has above average bat speed and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Up the middle approach. Fluid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 82 mph; has a quick exchange and fluid footwork. Had a loose arm action and an-over-the-top slot with consistent accuracy to the base. Clocked a 60 time of 7.56 at the event. On the mound, had a very quick arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. feel type pitcher. Has athletic balance point. Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph with a max of 81 mph; had running action and low in the zone control. Had tight action and consistent command on his curveball (71-73). 

Brandon Wilbanks: OF/1B, (2023) Sparkman, AL. 6-foot, 150-pound proportional frame. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 81 mph. Started in an open stance. Bat speed was efficient, had simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Line drive approach. Above average from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 79 mph; had a clean exchange and athletic footwork. Used an-over-the-top slot and a quick arm action while showing some accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 7.76 in the 60-yard dash. 

Will Landers: OF/RHP, (2023) Leeds, AL. 5-foot-10, 135-pound solid frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 79 mph. Begins in an open stance with a low load, then uses a leg kick to initiate his swing. Bat speed is quick, exhibits upward swing plane and high finish. He found some barrels with some loud contact. In the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 78 mph; has a natural exchange and consistent footwork. Used a short arm action with an-over-the-top slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.45. On the mound, throws from a ¾ arm angle and has quick arm speed. Showed some effort in his delivery. Showed consistent balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 74-76 mph with a max of 77 mph; showed very consistent control and sinking action. Had very consistent control and sweeping action on his tight curveball (69-69). 

Brody McCain: RHP/OF, (2023) Arab, AL. 6-foot, 155-pound slim frame. In the box, Mccain clocked an exit velocity of 78 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride to start his swing. Has upward swing plane and has level finish. He found some barrels during his rounds. Up the middle approach. Smooth his best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 78 mph; has athletic footwork and a clean exchange. Had an-over-the-top slot and some accuracy to the bag. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.81. Projectable on the mound, uses a quick arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Uses easy effort in his delivery. Threw his fastball 74-75 mph with a max of 77 mph; showed running action and around the zone command. His curveball (63-64) has arm side command and cutting action. 

Chris Walker: OF/SS, (2023) Sparkman, AL. 5-foot-10, 146-pound athletic frame. At the plate, Walker recorded an exit velocity of 81 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a leg kick to start his swing. Bat speed is explosive, and has good extension on his finish. Created loud contact during the round. Pull side approach. Above average in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 78 mph; had a clean exchange and rhythmic footwork. Had an-over-the-top slot and a loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the base. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.23. Really like how this '23 has progressed of late. 

Devin Howell: OF/3B, (2023) Ohatchee, AL. 5-foot-10, 155-pound mature frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 77 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a quick stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed is efficient, shows upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. He Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Fluid in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 73 mph; had consistent footwork and a natural exchange. Used a long arm action with an-over-the-top slot while showing some accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 7.4 in the 60-yard dash. Young player that has added a good bit of strength to his frame. 

Noah Marler: OF, (2022) Northridge, AL. 5-foot-8, 158-pound athletic frame. At the plate, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 80 mph. Sets up in an open stance then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is efficient, uses upward swing plane and high finish. He showed some loud contact during his round. Gap to gap approach. Projectable in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 72 mph; had consistent footwork and a clean exchange. Some accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.4. Big time defender in the outfield that made a legitimate diving play in the grass during game play.
