Today, we continue our rollout of uncommitted spotlights highlighting the 2021 class.

Ethan Light displayed his athleticism MOKAN Top Prospect Games June 23rd. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.96, while throwing 73 mph from the outfield.

6/23/20

 

Ethan Light: OF, (2021) Pittsburg, KS. 6-foot-1, 155-pound slim frame. In the box, Light had an exit velocity of 71 mph. Began in a wide stance with a tight load, then used a long stride to initiate his swing. Has short swing plane, some bat speed and level finish. Found a few barrels in his rounds. Line drive approach. Average from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 76 mph; had a lengthy exchange, sure hands and developing footwork. Used a long arm action and an-over-the-top slot. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.96.

 

8/11/19

 

Light is a 6-foot 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 6.95 60 and a 4.44 home to first.  He had a 75 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall set up, loads with weight shift against back side, slightly open with stride, middle of the field line drives, slightly high finish.  In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, works through the catch with momentum in footwork, clean transfer and throw, 74 mph positional velocity.

 

 

6/5/18 - Light is a 5-foot-11 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansa’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.10 60 and a 4.50 home to first.  He has a 75 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in an athletic position, smooth weight shift to back side, minimal hand load, uses the oppo gap with gap to gap approach. In the outfield, 66 mph positional velocity, quick to the ball, high three quarters arm slot, clean transfer with momentum after the catch in footwork.

 

 

2/16/18 - Light is a 5-foot-11 135-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.33 home to first and has a 73 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, early stride with separating hands, loose and quick hands, body stays under control, feel for the barrel, consistently squared up the ball, mostly middle to oppo contact.  In the outfield, 74 mp positional velocity, short over the top release, works behind the ball and creates momentum after the catch, clean glove to hand exchange, lean frame with plenty of room to develop strength to athletic movements.
