Uncommitted Spotlight: 2024 Ernie Echevarria

Rocco Iervasi
PBR Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

This spring we will be highlighting players throughout the state with Uncommitted Spotlights. We will highlight one 2022, 2023, and 2024 player each week looking for a school to call home. The state of Florida is full of uncommitted players who have the talent to play at the next level. These players deserve as much exposure as they can get in order to help them find the right home.

Today, we will highlight 2024 Ernie Echevarria. Ernie is a 6-foot-1, 180 pound catcher from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami, FL. Outside of high school, Ernie plays travel ball with X-Team. Ernie is an athletic catcher with a mature, balanced approach at the plate. Really stood out at Preseason All-State in January with consistent BP rounds producing hard line drives gap to gap. Impressed with flexibility behind the plate and pop times of 2.02-2.09. Ernie has a bright future and should be high on college recruiting boards.
