Scouting Report
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with projectability and room to fill out as he matures. 7.33 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Tall, even setup with loose hands at the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang stride coupled with slight stretch on the load to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Long levers work well when contacting the baseball at the front of the plate with a feel for the barrel during batting practice. The lower half works in conjunction with the hands allowing for a smooth, repeatable path while hitting into a stiff front side. Primarily used the left centerfield gap, but showed the ability to stay in the middle of the field regardless of where he was pitched. Registered an 82 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder had one of the top defensive rounds among all prospects in attendance. Glides in the outfield with high level feel for all routes. Can drop step and go get it for his pitchers or play downhill through a single to the outfield creating momentum towards the target. Soft glove hand played out in front with an accurate, high ¾ arm-slot that was long in the back and long in the front. Plenty of arm-speed, could handle two, possibly three outfield positions at the next level. OF - 90 mphDemonstrated advanced feel for a projectable 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with wiry strength and room to fill out as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a tall, even stance utilizing a controlled toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. Generated a short, repeatable stroke through a slightly uphill path allowing for his long levers to create barrel whip into the hitting zone. Showed sink into a wide lower half with some twitch while hitting into a stiff front side. Displayed a gap to gap approach with quality extension through the baseball and natural pull-side lift when contacting the ball out in front. Recorded an 82 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice and ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder showcased long and fluid actions with present athleticism in his movements, taking advantageous routes to the ball with regularity. Advanced leg drive through the baseball towards the target created momentum and accurate 83 mph arm-strength with carry out of a quick, high ¾ arm-slot.
Defensively, outfield ctions are fluid and athletic. Flashes confident glove hand in attacking and playing through the ball on the ground. Gets behind and plays through the ball in the air. Arm slot is somewhat low for outfielder.
Offensively, 5-foot-9 130 pound, right-handed hitter initiates swing from open set up with stride to neutral. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. There is balance and rhythm present. Bat is on plane early and late. There is some length. A bat exit velocity of 73 mph was registered. Mechanics and athleticism suggest a coming jump in bat speed correlative to strength gains.
