Scouting Report
Scouting Director Notes
The 6-foot, 175-pound backstop prospect was steady all summer both at the plate and behind the dish for Gametime. Sturdy frame with proportional strength. At the dish, slightly crouched stance with efficient load and small stride. Gets great extension out front and stays balanced throughout swing. Generates great bat speed (Mid-Upper 70s via Blast Motion) and rotates extremely well (Max: 26.4 G | Range: 19.4-26.4 G via Blast), allowing Burleson to make later decisions on pitches. Consistently barrels the baseball into the power alleys while showing some pull-side power (Max Exit Velo: 100.3 mph | Max Distance: 358 ft. via Trackman; See Video for Chart). Good actions behind the plate, strong flexibility allowing Burleson to sink down and provide great target presentation while also stealing low strikes. Solid arm with good accuracy while popping a 2.03-2.08 this summer. Average runner. Burleson has steadily climbed the ranks behind his blue-collar mentality, and finds himself as a data-certified sleeper.
