Scouting Report

10/06/19

'20 Aidan Byrne for Mash had a solid day at the plate.  The right-handed hitting short-stop showed a gap to gap approach and had a couple of triples.  An average frame that will fill out and be a nice get at the next level.

7/25/19

6-foot, 165-pound shortstop, athletic frame with projection. High level defender at short, hands play soft and shows above average range, moves well with easy release from any angle. Arm showed carry and accuracy, above average body control. Right-handed hitter, hits leadoff, 4.39 runner down the line.

6/17/19

6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. #72 ranked player in MN 2020 class. 7.14 runner. Thin athletic frame, Slight shoulder load, solid barrel control, uses both sides of field, line drive hitter with higher rate of solid contact, 86 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, shows good hands and feet, covers ground well, accurate arm to bag, 80 mph arm across infield.

10/22/17

5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.26 runner. Tall narrow stance, rushes load, linear actions through contact, mid/pull approach, consistent solid contact, hard line drives and ground balls, 72 mph exit velocity. Shows good actions in field, plays on balls of feet, developing footwork, soft hands, accurate to bag on throws, 73 mph arm across infield.




PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Byrne: MSU-Mankato, St. Cloud State, Concordia St. Paul, Wayne State College, and other Division 2 schools around the Midwest.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Byrne:  I have visited Concordia St. Paul, St. Cloud State, and Wayne State. Looking to get down to Mankato soon.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Byrne: I am looking for a school with a good business program as I most likely will go into Marketing.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?

Byrne: The main thing was stepping into more of a leadership role after playing my sophomore year. I also got All Conference Honorable Mention in the South Suburban Conference.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Byrne: Leading my team to a section championship and to the state tournament.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Byrne:  I am an assistant captain for hockey.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Byrne: 29 ACT, 3.745 GPA
