Scouting Report
6/27/18 - McGregor may be the best physical specimen in the 2019 class with a strong, athletic 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame. He shows elite flashes during BP, with signifiant raw power generated almost exclusively by physical strength. Although McGregor has improved his rhythm in the box significantly, he creates almost no torque or separation, firing his lower half and hands at virtually the same time. This can also lead to some inconsistency when facing live pitching, but can certainly be improved with some mechanical adjustments that get his body sequencing more effectively. He also showed a 50 arm from the outfield, with a longer release from a low 3/4 slot with solid accuracy and carry. If the elite student (Ivy level) is able to put it all together in game action at some point soon, he could vault way up the rankings and is likely a fit for someone at the DI level either way due to the combination of tools (7.06 60-yard dash, 93 MPH exit velo, 91 MPH OF velo) and academics.
1/28/18 - Extremely physical 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame with thickness in lower half. Did not throw from the outfield due to arm soreness but turned in solid 7.09 60-yard dash for body type and should be able to handle an outfield corner at the next level. Hits from slightly open setup with knee-knock load and creates a wide base with stride. Shows impressive raw power generated mostly with physical strength and shows flat bat bath. 88 mph exit velocity. Excited to see more from this physical 2019 prospect at full strength.
