Scouting Report

10/20/19

6-foot-5, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player.  7.25 runner.  Squared stance with relaxed handset.  Hand load down and back with small stride.  Hands push away and create slight arm bar.  Some length to contact.  Middle approach with mainly line drive contact.  Average barrel when on time with flashes of strength.  89 mph exit velocity.  IF- Active feet and attacks ball.  Plays high and sits up in fielding position.  Makes routine play.  82 mph arm strength with good carry and accuracy.  On mound- Projectable frame with room to fill out.  Simple delivery and repeats well.  Lands down mound just across body.  Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action and good extension.  Fastball is 85-88 mph topping at 90 mph with life.  Curveball has 12/6 break with average feel at 66-68 mph.  Slider has 11/5 break with tight spin and good depth at 74-77 mph.  Change-up has average action and firm at 77-80 mph.  A follow arm in 2021 class

 

9/15/19

'21 RHP Nicholas Argento for Pine Tar has a great frame on the mound.  Pitched 3 plus innings striking out five.  Fastball sat 81-83 mph and  T84 mph.  He also came up clutch at the plate with a couple of hits and 4 RBIs.  

 

7/10/19

6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player.  7.46 runner.  Slightly closed upright stance.  Small stride and hand load back.  Flat swing plane.  Pull approach with line drive and fly ball contact.  Average contact and flashed pop in barrel.  85 mph exit velocity.  IF- Attacks ball and feet move well.  Fields ball high.  Makes routine play.  Longer arm action.  80 mph arm strength with good carry and average accuracy.  Follow bat in 2021 class.
