Scouting Report
6-foot, 189 pound RHP. Athletic frame. Uptempo delivery. Efficient arm swing that works through a 3/4 slot. Showed an uptick in velocity as fastball peaked at 84.28 mph. Velocity ranged 82-84. Fastball shows effective ASR and sink that he uses well to get in on right-handed hitters. Has feel for a sharp-breaking 68-72 mph curveball with 11/5 shape that is a swing and miss pitch. Also locked up a few hitters with the CB as he uses it effectively to put hitters away. Mixed in a 66 mph changeup that can be thrown with better arm speed to maximize effectiveness. Hicks is a high-follow arm in the 2023 class who appears to be just scratching the surface of his potential.
