With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Tri-County North Panthers

Team Name: Tri-County Panthers
Head Coach: Justin Tucker
Division: IV
2018 Record: 17-8
Conference Record: Cross County Conference, 10-2
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/8

2019 Team Strengths:

  • 8 Returning Seniors
  • Experience All-Around

Coach Outlook: "We have a great opportunity to compete for another conference championship and I believe that our non-league schedule will do a great job preparing us for the tournament. D2 state champs CJ, D3 runner up Coldwater, & regional qualifier Madison highlight the schedule."

PBR Outlook: The Panthers and coach Justin Tucker are a team to watch in D-IV in 2019. Coming off a 17 win season in 2018, the Panthers return most of their team. The schedule looks to have been made to prepare the Panthers for the tournament, keep an eye on this team in D-IV.

  • Collin Whipp (Video), INF/RHP, R/R, SR. Will be a 4 year starter for us, Edison CC Commit. .386 AVG, 10 2B, 1 HR, 28 RBIs, 40 R, 14 SB. 5-2, 2.65 ERA, 36 Ks, 18 BB.
  • Liam Downing, C, R/R, SR. Will be a 4 year starter, Edison CC Commit. .289 AVG, 7 2B, 1 3B, 22 RBIs, 25 Rs, 10 SBs.
