Top Prospect Games Player Spotlight: 2019 C Colby Jenkins

On Tuesday, June 13th, we are hosting the annual Top Prospect Games at Indiana University's Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, IN. The event is designed for the top uncommitted 2018-2021 prospects throughout the state.  Leading up to the event will highlight some of the top players attending the event.

Scouting Report

4/13-4/14 Game Notes: The 5'11", 170 pound sophomore catcher caught both games Friday night and was solid behind the plate and in the batters box. Sat and received the baseball easy, both in and out, while also blocking the baseball in a good position. Good athleticism behind the plate, feet worked towards the bases to throw. Pop times were 2.05-2.12 and threw out one runner at 3rd. Average arm strength, transfer is clean, but does need to get quicker to release after catch. Tendency to stand up and get tall after catch. Frame is strong and mature for his age but skill set still has room to grow. Narrow setup in the box, slightly open with simple quiet leg lift to load to start swing. Barrel and hands work in good path to baseball and consistently barreled the baseball in both games. Good athlete and follow in the 2019 class.
