Top Prospect - Quick Hits: Underclass Pitchers

Las Vegas, NV - The Nevada Top Prospect event saw some of the top talent in the state take the field at Las Vegas Ballpark to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Staff as well as the 2,000+ viewers that tuned in via Live Stream. This group featured prospects ranging from the 2021-2023 classes and were tracked, analyzed and assess by the leading technology in the sport in TrackMan and Blast Motion.
Day 1, the athletes took part in the Pro-Style workout where they ran a Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash, took a TrackMan + Blast analyzed batting practice session, Catcher Velocity/Pop Times, Outfield Evaluation/Velocity and Infield Evaluation/Velocity. Day 2 featured Live Evaluations where pitchers threw controlled live sessions against hitters in a simulation live format. Both days were filled by standout performances and new personal bests that will be highlight over the coming days with Quick Hits, Statistical Leaderboards and Players You Need to Know About.

Profile: The three sport athlete continues to impress after his breakout performance at the Future Games just a month ago. His loose projectable actions on the mound have him quickly becoming one of the most sought after prospects in the state with fastball velocity that has continues to climb at each Prep Baseball Report event
Body: 6-foot-3, 170 pounds. High level athleticism. Long limbs with room to add strength and size. Free and easy actions throughout his game. Quick twitch with some raw attributes. Uses his frame well to get down the mound.
Delivery: Starting tall, narrow in the middle-left part of the rubber. He starts with a small weight shift left then brings it back up into a check high peaking leg kick. Sinks into his drop and drive delivery. On line stride with quality extension. Remains balanced over his front side landing in a squared finish. Repeats well. Low to some effort.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose action. 3/4 to high 3/4 slot. Repeats arm slot well on both FB and CB.
FB: Max 88 mph. Sat 85-87 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 2169 RPM. Ball jumps out of his hand. Some downhill action. Locates well.
CB: 70 - 73 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1507 RPM. Flashes potential when down in the zone. Works off the same plane as his FB.

Profile: Perry came into the Top Prospect as the top arm in the 2023 Class, #4 Overall, and solidified his position among the top of his class after his performance. The long, lean sophomore oozes projectablility with actions on the mound that place him among the top pitching prospect in the state regardless of class.
Body: 6-foot-2, 165 pounds. Long, slender build. Broadening shoulders, long limbs on his frame. Has room to add size and strength.
Delivery: Starts tall, narrow to the far left side of the rubber. Rhythmic motion into a chest high peaking leg kick. Sinks into a drop and drive delivery with his hands consistently separating as his begins his stride. Slightly closed stride with a follow through the pulls him to the 1B side.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 arm slot. Long, loose arm action that allows him to have natural run. Repeats well on each pitch.
FB: Max 87 mph. Sat 85-87 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 2421 RPM. Natural arm side action. Located down in the zone. Ball jumps out of his hand.
SL: 73-76 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 2593 RPM. Sweeping action. Works well off his FB. Pitch continues to improve.

Profile: The 2022 arm came to the Top Prospect event fresh off of a standout performances at the 2020 Future Games. A thick built two-way prospect whose future will most likely be on the mound sat in the mid to upper 80’s. Avery still possesses raw attributes on the mound that could turn into higher upside once they are cleaned up.
Body: 6-foot-3, 220 pounds. Thick, athletic build. Proportionate throughout his frame. Athletic for his size.
Delivery: Starts tall on far left side of the rubber. Hands begin at his belt. Slow, rhythmic delivery. Big swinging leg kick into a tall/tilt delivery. Does have some inconsistency with his hand break causing his arm to drag. Level shoulders at release with quality extension over his front side. Lands on line to home with a slight finish to the 1B side.
Arm Action: Quick, extra loose arm. High 3/4 arm slot. The looseness in his arm does cause some inconsistencies in the zone, but when his timing is on, he is very effective.
FB: Max 87 mph. Sat 85-65 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 2201 RPM. Creates some downhill action. Flashes of cut. Locates around the zone and when he commands inside the zone, the cut/run combo proves very effective.
CB: 74-76 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 2505 RPM. 11/5 shape with some late bite. More effective the farther he gets it out front.

Profile: The Under the Radar junior showcased his projectable abilities on the mound with a fastball running into the upper 80’s with feel for each of his four pitches. His projectable frame seemingly has more velocity in the tank, especially as he continues to add some physicality to his frame.
Body: 6-foot-4, 188 pounds. Lean build with long limbs. Proportionate frame. Has room to add significant size and strength.
Delivery: Start mid rubber. Compact, efficient delivery. Stays tall throughout. Coils with his knee peaking chest high towards his back shoulder. Throws over a high front side with a slightly closed landing. Tends to fall slightly towards the 1B side. Uses his levers well. A few slight mechanical adjustments could see significant improvements in his velocity and pitch effectiveness.
Arm Action: Loose, long arm action. Mostly over-the-top arm slot with some high 3/4 on his secondary pitches. Tends to shorten up on his secondary pitches as well, but does repeat his slot well.
FB: Max 87 mph. Sat down 82-86 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1859 RPM. Downhill action from a mostly upright delivery. Lived down in the zone.
SL: 71-75 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1697 RPM. Some sweeping action. Works well off his FB. Consistent down in the zone. Tends to short arm.
CH: 70-72 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1206 RPM. Tends to slow arms with slight push. Located in the bottom of the zone. Flashes of some arm side fade.

Body: 6-foot-1, 165 pounds. Athletic build with some twitchiness. Still has the frame to add size and strength which should help amplify his game throughout.
Delivery: Starts tall in the middle of the rubber. Hands sink to his waist with his small initial step. Uses a toe tap hesitation before a chest high peaking leg kick with his hands elevating to head high and breaking with his leg drop. Lands on line with a finish towards the 1B line. Some effort at extension. Repeats well.
Arm Action: Loose, quick arm action. High 3/4 arm slot. Repeats slot well. Tends to slow up on secondary pitches.
FB: Max 86 mph. Sat 83-85 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 2193 RPM. Some arm side action with downhill. Some effort. Located well.
CB: 65-72 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1859 RPM. 11/5 shape. More effective the farther he gets it out front. Showed comfort locating the pitch.
SL: 66-67 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1786 RPM. Some sweeping action. Commands well. Tends to short arm.
CH: 67-70 mph. Avg. Spin Rate - 1880 RPM. Slightly pushes. Has some sink and fade. Developing pitch.
