It was a historic preseason here in New York with our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff covering 700+ players at showcase events, all February long. The dust has settled and we are now ramping up our efforts in player rankings, scouting reports, and recap articles. Scouting Report
Physical: 6-foot-0, 155-pounds. Lean, lengthy build. 4.43 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Starts tall with a slight bend in knees, small leg kick, hands are level with chin. Level swing through the zone, strong contact hitter with quick hands. Strong contact; stays up the middle. 81 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Good footwork, approaches the ball with controlled mechanics and is accurate to the target. Long, over the top throw. OF - 81 MPH.
Pitching: Builds momentum with a short drop step into a high leg lift, gets into the back side as he strides out to a slightly open landing, finishes with a balanced follow through. Long arm swing to a 3/4 slot. FB: T79, 77-79 MPH. Arm side run with life into the zone. CB: 65-67 MPH. Locates in the zone with 11-5 shape; slows up a bit. CH: 67-68 MPH. Slows arm speed a bit and the ball cuts across.
Quick Hit
"Long limbs and has a good solid foundation to hold more weight. Slightly open stance with a good leg kick. Simple and able to repeat over and over. Gets barrel through the zone with constant line drives. Attacks the ball defensively and has very active footwork to work laterally around the ball to put him in position to field it. Strong arm with a hard throw to his target. Repeatable delivery and very simple, three pitch mix, and is able to keep same arm slot with his pitches."
