5. Zach Brown (Seymour, 2013, committed to Kentucky) Brown has always shown tremendous arm strength, but never had put it together on the mound. Well, in the biggest stage of his career in the sectionals Brown came in during the sixth inning against New Albany with a lead of 2-1. Brown proceeded to have a coming out party. He was 88-91 and showed possibly the best slider I saw all year. 

4. Zach Plesac (Crown Point, 2013, committed to Ball State) Coming off a complete game start on Thursday, Plesac came back on Friday and touched 91 in the second round of sectionals. It is really tough to touch 91, and it is almost impossible to do it on no rest. 

3. Chad Whitmer (Penn , 2013, Southern Illinois) Whitmer in a regular season game threw the best inning I saw all year. Whitmer went from 84-85 the inning before, to 87-89 with a devastating slider. The inning just happened to be his 9^th inning of the day in a 0-0 tie against #1 Elkhart Central at the time. 

2. Will Coursen-Carr (FW South Side, 2012, committed to IU) Carr threw two games in the state tournament, the sectional final and the first round of Regionals, and yielded an 11 inning run where Coursen- Carr looked like the best pitcher in the state. It was one of the best two game stretches I have seen a kid have on the mound. 

1. Jacob Barnes (New Palestine, 2012) Barnes had a dream state tournament run. Barnes hit not one, but two game winning home runs. The first home run was in the seventh inning of the sectional title. Greenwood was up 3-2 heading to the top of the seventh. Barnes came up with two on and delivered a three run home run to give New Pal the win and the sectional title. The second home run was a walk off blast to push New Palestine into the semi state round.
