Scouting Report
A highly touted LHP with an exciting blend of size, stuff and projection, Schoolcraft has been on the scene for a while now and continues to trend in the right direction. Left-handed pitchers are always in demand and his ability to profile as a starter long-term only helps separate him amongst his fellow classmates. The velocity has continued to tick up as he matures and fills out his incredibly long, high-waisted frame while the secondaries are becoming more consistent as is his willingness to use them. For a taller athlete, he controls his body well throughout the delivery and moves easily through his core. He can also swing it with authority from the left-side and delivers exciting power with the bat, which just enhances his overall profile. Expect to hear more from the talented southpaw throughout the spring of 2023.
Schoolcraft intrigued on the mound with his ability to mix pitches and land them for strikes, keeping hitters guessing and causing uncomfortable at-bats. Working mainly off FB/CB, Schoolcraft commanded both pitches and hit his spots consistently on the day. Loose, clean arm action with repeatable mechanics, Schoolcraft finished with seven strikeouts, two walks and two earned runs over 5IP.
