As we approach the end of 2021, we're taking account of the PBR Oregon player profile pages to determine the players in our backyard whose profiles earned the most attention throughout the year. We're counting down the top-10 profiles in the state that received the most views, from 10 and on, concluding our countdown on New Year's Day by revealing the most-viewed profile of the year.

Concluding our end of the year countdown with the most viewed profile in Oregon this year is LHP Paul Wilson (Lakeridge), the state’s top 2023 prospect who’s also slotted at 17th overall on our national rankings for his class. A 6-foot-4, 190-pound southpaw, we saw Wilson up close a few times this year, including at the Oregon ProCase and at Area Codes. He was one of the lone 2023 grads at those same Area Code Games, catching the attention of both Shooter Hunt and Nathan Rode. They had this to say about him inside their “2021 Area Code Games: Pitching Standouts” piece:

Paul Wilson (Lakeridge HS, OR) gave a glimpse of the future as one of the only 2023s in attendance. The Oregon State recruit checked in at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and got a bunch of swings and misses with a 92-94 fastball out of a short 3/4 arm action, while also snapping off a tight curveball with plus potential at 74 mph.”

The upside that Wilson brings to the diamond is relatively high given his size, arm talent, and handedness. He’s certain to garner some significant draft attention throughout this year’s summer circuit and into the spring of 2023. Should the current Oregon State recruit make it to Corvallis, however, he could shine for his hometown Beavers in a near immediate impact role.
