THE ROSS REPORT
Noble Meyer, Levi Jones, Maddox Molony, Drake Gabel, River Hamilton
‘23 RHP Noble Meyer (Jesuit/Oregon)
Easy to see why he is one of the premier arms in the country. The 6’5 righthander works from a quiet, low effort delivery from start to finish with a repeatable 3/4 release. His arm works clean with a full swing and lighting arm speed to fire off a mid-90’s fastball and has shown he can go get more when he wants. His fastball shows plus run, matched with a wipeout slider that makes for a devastating combination. A future 70 grade pitch, his slider has firm (84-87) sweep with a ton of late bite. His third pitch is a firm changeup, thrown 85-87, featuring late dive and could end up being a weapon against left-handed hitters. He dabbled with a slower variation of his slider, which had more of a curve type break. The body and athlete still leave plenty of room to dream and project. Meyer has a chance to become a front-line starter with two 70 grade pitchers and some change to spare.
