The Katy Tigers Advance To 2nd Round With 2 Wins On Friday

SUGAR LAND, TX - Christian Vega was dominant in a 2-hit, complete game outing vs. FB Austin High. Vega was able to shut down the Bulldog offense with good fastball command and a dominating breaking ball. Vega finished the day with 9 strikeouts and only 26 batters faced. The Tigers got three runs in the top of the 1st. Senior shortstop J.J. Padilla led the game off with a single and was followed by RBI at bats from Will Amador, Matt Kissamis, Christian Salinas. Katy showed a balanced offensive attack led by Padilla, and Dallas Baptist recruit Hayden Ebrecht. FB Austin stayed in the game thanks to a gutsy, six inning pitching performance from Kris McRae. Daniel Shipley and Nick Hill each recorded hits for Fort Bend Austin. Final Score: Katy 6, FB Austin 0.

Game 2  followed with Katy eliminating FB Austin 5-2 to advance.
