Not long before the 2017 MLB Draft started Monday night, big news dropped in the recruiting world. SS Bobby Witt Jr. (Colleyville Heritage HS, TX) de-committed from Oklahoma, citing the departure of head coach Pete Hughes. Witt is the top prospect in the Class of 2019 and son of former major leaguer Bobby Witt. He has lightning-quick hands at the plate, allowing him to punish the baseball. He is athletic in the field, moving around with ease, and shows good actions and a strong arm. He’ll be highly coveted by the top programs in the country, though it’s highly unlikely he’ll ever get to campus, as he is likely to be a top pick in the 2019 Draft.
