Team Wisconsin 14U: Game Three Recap

From July 25th to July 30th, the Prep Baseball Report staff will run the PBR Junior Future Games at the state-of-the-art LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia.

The 10th Annual Invitation-Only event will feature the best identified 2027-2028 prospects from across the PBR Coverage Area in a five-day event at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA. Participants will be given the unique opportunity of competing against other top-level players while representing their respective state in a high-level atmosphere.

This event will run in conjunction with the PBR Future Games. The Future Games features the top uncommitted players in the Class of 2025 and 2026 from across the Prep Baseball Report’s 40+ state coverage area. It is one of the most highly recruited events of the summer and attracts more than 300 college coaches from across the country each year.

This one-of-a-kind event will include individual workouts and a 4-game guarantee with single elimination bracket play to determine a champion in each age group.

GAME THREE: TEAM WISCONSIN VS. TEAM MASSACHUSETTS

The Team Wisconsin squad tied their third game of the week to Team Massachusetts by a score of 5-5. Team Wisconsin lost a lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, which concluded the game due to time limit rules. 

RHP/1B Dylan Schreiber (Waukesha West, 2027) started the game on the bump for Team Wisconsin and was efficient throughout the four innings he tossed. Allowing just one hit over the four innings, Schreiber struck out five and allowed two earned runs. Schreiber stands at 6-foot-4, 165 pounds, and features a pitch mix that includes a fastball, a changeup, and a slider. Schreiber ran his fastball up to 83 mph and showed good command with timely offspeed mixed in. The long-levered right-hander was comfortable on the mound and worked well through Team Massachusetts’ lineup as he induced weak contact.

In the second inning, Team Wisconsin’s bats began putting runs on the board as both C/OF Jack Spielmann (Milton, 2027) and C/OF Levi Boivin (Neenah, 2027) recorded hits that pushed across a run each. To follow, 3B/RHP Danny Flor (Oconomowoc, 2027) and OF/3B Ira Hilbelink (Cedar Grove-Belgium, 2027) both showed productive approaches at the plate as they both pushed across runs with ground balls.

After a couple of scoreless innings from each squad, Team Wisconsin pushed another run across when SS/RHP Kyle Rogosienski (Muskego, 2027) reached on an error that scored Flor, who walked to get on.

Across the game, the previously mentioned Spielmann impressed behind the dish and at the plate. Defensively, Spielmann blocked nearly every ball that he needed to and showed off his strong arm when he gunned a runner trying for second. Offensively, Spielmann ended the day 1-for-2 and drove in a run.

Ultimately, Team Wisconsin was unable to close the game out but showed well in their tie against Team Massachusetts and will look to continue their solid play into the rest of the week.
