CATCHERS

Matthew Houston C / 3B / Hallsville, TX / 2022

6-foot-2, 200-pounds has the durable frame to stay behind the plate. Houston shows the ability to receive, block, and throw at a high level, with pop times ranging from 1.95- 2.05 consistently. Houston has some thump in the bat and will be able to provide some extra base hits to go along with his defense. Houston also has a natural ability to communicate with others, does a nice job handling multiple pitchers throughout a weekend.

Rashawn Galloway C / 3B / Boerne , TX / 2022

6-foot, 200-pounds, has a natural presence to him behind the dish. Seems to always be in control of the game or the pitcher on the mound. Galloway also has a unique ability to communicate with others on his team. Physically he moves well behind the dish, receiving and blocking well. Will be consistent with his pop time between 1.85 and 2.00 with accurate throws. Does things a little unconventional from a mechanics standpoint behind the dish and in the box, but it works well for him and has continued to produced all summer.

1B

Deundre Jones 1B / Shadow Creek, TX / 2022

Pure hitter from the left side of the plate. Jones shows a compact powerful stroke with he ability to drive the ball to all fields. Defensively Jones moves around athletically and has the ability to play 1B. Jones’ carrying tool is the bat and has shown the ability to hit at a high level.

MIF

Kolby Branch SS / 2B / Lovejoy , TX / 2022

Branch has the ability to be a pest at the top of any lineup. Will grind out long at bats and work a walk as well as show the ability to hit early in the count and drive in a run. On the bases Branch is a guy that doesn’t necessarily have plus speed but runs with instincts and can steal bases at will. In the field shows athletic actions with his hands and feet working well together

Zack Zavala SS / 2B / Georgetown , TX / 2022

A standout performer from the S. Texas underclass games, showed the ability to play multiple spots on the infield as well has drive the baseball in the box. Zavala shows twitchy athletic actions in the field and probably translates into an offensive second baseman. The bat plays louder than his size and he has shown the ability to hit pull side home runs in college sized ball parks.

Harrison Helton SS / 2B / The Woodlands College Park , TX / 2022

The bat tends to stand out most for Helton right now. He has shown the ability to have high quality AB’s all summer and drive the baseball when the count is in his favor as well as find a way to get a hit when hes down in the count. Plays with a high IQ on defense, doesn’t necessarily have a power arm but plays with a clock in his head and is accurate with his throws.

Jonathon Gonzales 2B / SS / Milby , TX / 2022

Another a standout performer from the S. Texas underclass games, that worked tough at bats that resulted in multiple hard hit balls on the day. Gonzales’ ability to play multiple positions on the infield along with his bat will make him a nice get for any school. Right now his bat is probably a tick ahead of the rest of his game but does show great versatility moving forward.

OUTFIELDERS

Carson Queck OF / RHP / The Woodlands Christian, TX / 2022

Stands 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, projects as a corner OF and his power bat will allow him to stay there at the next level. Queck runs a sub 6.9- 60 yard dash as well as throw 92 from the OF. His bat is his carrying tool right now showing a quality approach as well as having the ability to drive the ball out to all parts of the park. Queck is one of the many picks to click from the team offensively.

Coldon Kiser OF / RHP / Frenship, TX / 2022

Standing 5-foot-10, 170-pounds with a rock solid lower half, Kiser is a twitchy athlete that plays centerfield like a safety in football. Shows great instincts in the field with quality jumps as well as routes to the ball. In the box he will grind out the AB until he is able to drive the ball. Kiser shows the ability to handle the bat in situational hitting as well as drive in a runner with an extra base hit.

Trey Duffield OF / RHP / Strake Jesuit, TX / 2022

6-foot-3, 200-pounds athletic strong frame, that runs a 6.94- sixty yard dash. Duffield has a presence in the box and has shown the the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. This summer, his overall game has caught up to the talent that he possess with multiple home runs as well as doubles hit in front of our staff. Defensively he also shows the ability to move to the ball well as well as showcase a power arm from the OF. Duffield has quite the high ceiling as he continues to put all facets of his game together.

Ben Merriman OF / Bowie, TX / 2023

Merriman has shown the ability to put the barrel on the ball at a high rate all summer long. He showcases a short stroke that can drive the ball to all fields as well as fight with 2 strikes and scrap his way to a base hit. Merriman stands 5-foot-8, 175-pounds and can play all 3 spots in the OF. Has had results in the box each and every week this summer.

UTL

Pierce George RHP / SS / Lake Travis, TX / 2022

Mentioned in the pitchers preview, but also shows the ability to play on the dirt as well as in the OF. His natural athletic ability allows him to play all over the field, though he may project more as a corner OF, he will show sound hands and feet on the infield. In the box he has some length with plenty of pop in the bat to drive the ball to all fields. His arm will also project to play RF down the line if he continues as a two way player

Blake Peterson OF / SS / Westlake, TX / 2023

Standing 6-foot, 180-pounds, with an athletic build, Peterson will play all over the diamond in the 3 games we play at Lakepoint. Currently shows the ability to handle the bat with his natural power being to the opposite field gap. Peterson also projects to play QB down the line at Texas powerhouse, Westlake High.
