The Texas high school season kicks off on February 24, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 31, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25. 

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

In 2020, coach John Cobb returns talent all over the field. Coach Cobb has eight players returning from last season led by junior 3B Julio Flores who was district newcomer of the year in 2019. Also returning with all-district honors are senior IF/RHP A.J. Bonacci (committed to Alvin CC), senior 1B Brett Riggs, senior OF Nick Mosley, senior OF Tre Odom, senior RHP Cy Murphy (committed to Angelina CC), senior RHP Shaun Bowers and junior OF/LHP Spencer Alexander. Coach Cobb also expects contributions from a couple newcomers in sophomore SS Coby DeJesus (No. 51 in 2022 PBR Texas rankings, committed to Houston) and sophomore IF Hunter Ditsworth.
