2017 TEAM PREVIEW: monroe central golden bears

Class: 2A
2016 Record: 15-11
Conference (2016 Record):  Mid-Eastern Conference 5-2
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/4

2017 Team Strengths:

• Speed
• Athleticism 

Top Returning Players:

• Logan Conklin, C, 2017: .375BA 15XBH
• Brady Jones, Utility, 2017: .372BA 
• Seth Wilson, SS, 2019: .313 22SB 

Outlook:  Coach Nunley expects his Golden Bears to play at a higher level in 2017 with 7 returning starters.  Monroe Central went 15-11 in 2016 but has the majority of the run production back in the lineup this spring.  Led by Logan Conklin (Kentucky Weselyan), the experience and leadership should play a pivotal role in their success this season.  Seth Wilson will continue to improve after a strong freshman campaign as he returns to starting SS.
