Halas hits from a loose, relaxed set-up with a slightly open stance. He has excellent bat speed, creating whip with his loose hands. He is aggressive and shows good barrel awareness. He is a good defender with soft hands, advanced actions and short, loose arm action. He can also get on the mound and pitch in the mid 80s with a power changeup that is a swing-and-miss pitch.
