After pitching in the mid-80s for most of the previous year, Stoner's fastball bumped the low 90s on multiple occasions over the summer and he showed the ability to hold high-80s velocity for multiple innings. Standing at a lean 6 feet, 170 pounds, he features a long, clean arm action with good athleticism and body control. Stoner has shown an ability to pound the bottom of the zone with his fastball, as well as spin a sharp, mid-70s breaking ball.
