Russell, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound righty, had a dominant outing at the Top Prospect Games in August and continued to play well for the Royals Scout Team in the fall. His fastball now sits 88-90 and he mixes in a sharp breaking ball with 11/5 action at 77-81. It has late break and it’s a swing-and-miss pitch. He has a strong frame and throws with some effort, but has a clean arm action through a high-3/4 slot.
