Irvin has a tall, projectable frame and throws from a middle- to low-3/4 arm slot, which produces good movement on his fastball. He has shown the ability to throw strikes and work both sides of the plate while sitting in the high 80s. He also has a hard slider with depth. Scouts have had limited views of him, but he has caught some eyes recently.
