The 6-foot-4, 218-pound right-hander made a big jump in velocity last summer with a fastball that routinely sat 87-90 mph, touching 91 on occasion. His 79-81 mph slider has the potential to be a legitimate swing-and-miss pitch at the next level. Planck's performance at the Future Games in 2014 vaulted him to the No. 1 ranking in Kentucky's 2016 class at the time. It also spurred significant interest from several high-profile Division I programs. He committed to Louisville less than a week after the event.
