Super 60 Player Preview: 3B/1B Drew Bridges (Carthage HS)
January 25, 2013
Drew Bridges, 1B, Carthage HS
The top power bat in Missouri’s Class of 2013 belongs to left-handed hitting Drew Bridges. His left-handed power has put him on area scouts’ watch list. While he plays his home games in a stadium known for swallowing balls in the outfield, Bridges has impressed in workouts at Kauffman Stadium for the Midwest Scouts Association, solidifying his place as a top power hitter in the Midwest.
Bridges has raw power to hammer the ball from the left centerfield gap to the right field line. With an explosive lower half and level swing, he has shown the ability to be force to be reckoned with at the plate.
Defensively, Bridges has smooth fielding mechanics and ability to play either corner position and has even seen some time at shortstop.
Scouts are looking forward to seeing Bridges put on a power display at the Super 60 Pro Showcase on February 3rd.
