Super 60: MS Recap
February 9, 2022
With over 100 Major League Scouts in a attendance and many of the top high school baseball players across America, the Prep Baseball Super 60 was spectacular once again!
Mississippi was very well represented with seniors Aiden Moffett of Taylorsville and Ross Highfill of Madison Central. Both now find themselves in a position to possibly hear their name called during this summer’s Major League draft.
Moffett, a 6-3 240lb durable RHP heading to LSU was more than advertised with an eye opening performance on the mound. The righty showcased a 4 pitch arsenal including a fastball that reached 97 mph with excellent late, arm side action. His secondary stuff was sharp as well featuring a curveball with good downward shape and tight spin (2600 spin) and sitting in the 78-80mph range. His changeup mimicked the fastball well sitting 86-87mph during his bullpen. Moffett also threw a cutter (89-90mph) that should be a serious weapon against lefties as he moves onto the next level after his final high school season. All-in-all a superb showing by Moffett!

Highfill had a season to remember last year. The Mississippi State recruit was an integral part of one of the top teams in America as the Jaguars went on to capture the Mississippi 6A state title. This spring Highfill looks to lead the Jaguars into another deep playoff run once again. The strong armed catcher was spectacular this past weekend as usual showcasing his array of high level tools, including a 6.59 60, 99 mph exit velocity using a solid line drive approach, and consistent pop times with 84/85 mph velocities behind the plate.

Prep Baseball Report Mississippi can't wait to see both of these guys in action soon as the MS high school season is just around the corner.
The PBR Mississippi staff also got a chance to see players from other PBR states up close as well. Here are a few guys that stood out…
Infielder Maximus Martin New Jersey was fun to watch! The quick (6.63 60), slick fielding Rutgers recruit was up to 93 mph across the diamond showing good range and lots of athleticism. Martin also took an impressive batting practice with solid hands and an aggressive gap to gap approach with an exit velocity up to 101 mph.
Illinois Luke Adams is a very imposing young man. The 6’4” 230lb Michigan State recruit looked like he would be playing tight end on Saturday’s in East Landsing but instead will be roaming the diamond. Adams ran a very impressive 6.73 60 while punishing baseballs during his bp rounds with an exit velocity up to 104 mph. The 3B/OF also showed off a 97 mph arm from the outfield!
LHP Jackson Humphries of North Carolina will not be fun to face this spring. The Campbell recruit showed off some well refined stuff while in Chicago featuring a fastball that worked 93-95mph and a slider that showed dynamic action with a spin rate average of 2865!
Gregory Pace Jr. of Michigan had plenty of tools. The speedy outfielder, headed to Michigan, turned in a Super 60 best 6.30 60, had an exit velocity up to 101 mph, and reached 97 mph on his throws from the outfield.
It’s hard to describe the amount of talent on hand at this event. It’s simply amazing and we can't wait to go back!
