Since June we have been on the go running showcases, tournaments and scouting events around the state every week and weekend in the summer. Through our travels we have seen over a hundred outfielders, ranging from the graduating class of 2020-2018. Here's a look at some of the outfielders that really caught our eye this summer at our events. Check out our Fall Events Schedule HERE.

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017) Physically gifted 6-foot, 205-pound outfielder, ran a 7.01/60. Offensively - left-handed batter, smooth and fluid swing with quick, strong hands, short to the ball, effective load, keeps bat on level path through strike zone with a repeatable motion and full extension for an exit velocity of 90 MPH, evident counter rotation between upper and lower torso, further lower body engagement will add to already existing power. Defensively - confident and poised, sets up easily behind the ball, smooth transfer with a position velocity of 87 MPH. Pitching - RHP, clean arm action, uses height to get downward plane on fastball at 81-84 MPH, shows positive hip tilt at the balance point, keeps batters off balance with 12-to-6 curveball at 72-74 MPH, consistently induces weak contact.

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017) Athletic, 6-foot, 178-pound outfielder with potential, ran a 6.98/60. Offensively - effective load, short to the ball, smooth and fluid swing, effortlessly brings bat through the strike zone on a level path with exit velocity of 93 MPH, repeatable motion, room for counter rotation between upper and lower torso to add to power. Defensively - clean and efficient setup, easily generates momentum, sure hands, smooth transfer, accurate arm at 84 MPH.

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017) Slender 6-foot, 172-pound build with a 6.89/60. Offensively - smooth and fluid swing out of an upright stance, uses slight toe tap with little stride for an exit velocity of 88 MPH; effective load, repeatable motion, keeps bat on level plane through the zone, quick hands; engagement of lower body will add to power. Defensively - agile footwork, fluid motions in the outfield with a smooth and easy with an outfield velocity of 79 MPH.

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017) 6-foot with an athletic frame, ran a 6.67/60; slightly down from 6.61 in February but continues to impress with foot speed. Offensively - left-handed batter with a loose and fluid stroke; loads lightly and gets hands through the zone quickly with knees slightly bent, repeatable motion. Could add to his exit velocity of 83 MPH by keeping his weight on back foot longer. Defensively - accurate arm with velocity of 80 MPH, smooth and easy transfer, agile footwork which he uses to generate momentum before catch.

Canisius July 5, 2017 Rogowski stands in at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a strong athletic frame. Ran a 4.70 home to first. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso hold the bat in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing the hips using his whole-body frame in the pitch. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with upward lift barrel action throughout into a high one-handed finish. Demonstrated potential gap to gap power during batting practice round with clean fluid swings. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 MPH, just shy of his previously recorded best of 86 MPH. Defensively- Moves well to the baseball with a good approach and footwork. Gets underneath and shows a good transition from catch to the throwing position gaining ground throughout the process of the throw. Was accurate and moves well left/right and on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 83 MPH, which is a 3 MPH improvement from his previous best mark at 80 MPH in January 2017.

Campus Series - Canisius (July 5, 2017) Thomas stands in at 5-foot-10, 190-pounds with a lean, strong, athletic frame. Ran a 4.74 home to first, just shy of his previously best recorded mark of 4.23 set in January 2017. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet wide outside shoulder width. Has a vertical body holding the bat above the bat shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a toe tap forward to place his foot down while his hands move back slightly getting into a good hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting his hips cleared and using his whole-body frame in the swing process. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel action throughout into a high one-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage and line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side during batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 88 MPH, a 6 MPH improvement from his previous best recorded mark of 82 MPH set in January 2017. Defensively- Good approach and footwork getting to the baseball. Gets underneath well with an appropriate outfielder arm swing gaining momentum towards intended target. Crow hop mechanics are smooth going through the movement to get into a solid throwing position. Will only get better with added arm strength through future development. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 75 MPH, an 8 MPH improvement from his previously best recorded mark of 67 MPH set in January 2017. Overall a strong, young talented 2020 grad class prospect that coaches need to keep an eye on.

Campus Series- St. Bonaventure (July 11, 2017) Crandall stands in at 5-foot-9, 145-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 4.53 home to first. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet wide outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of his back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick knee raise in to stride forward while his hands move back into the hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting his whole-body frame involved in the process of the swing. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side during batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH. Defensively- In the outfield, good approach and footwork getting to and underneath the baseball. Shows a good long outfielder arm swing throwing downhill towards target. Fluid crow hop mechanics gaining ground throughout the movement. Was accurate on all throws and recorded an outfield positional arm velocity of 80 MPH. In the infield, Good footwork and approach getting to the baseball. Could field the ball more out in front of the body versus fielding it back in his stance. Fielding mechanics are smooth with a good funnel into the chest with a quick transition into the throwing position. Moves well left/right and in on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 75 MPH.

Campus Series- St. Bonaventure (July 11, 2017) Wayman stands in at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 4.53 home to first, slightly faster than his previously recorded best of 4.63 set in February 2017. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside his shoulders. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso. Holds the bat just above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick knee raise to stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Has quick hands into the hitting zone with level barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in swing. Shows a smooth fluid swing demonstrated in his batting practice round with gap to gap power potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH, just shy of his previous best 82 MPH set in February 2017. Defensively- Good approach and footwork moving to the baseball. Could use more of an aggressive crow hop to gain momentum on the throw. Good outfielder arm swing but could throw downhill more towards target. Recorded a positional arm velocity as an outfielder of 79 MPH. Overall a very talented 2020 graduate coaches need to keep an eye on.

Campus Series - July 18, 2017 Bowers stands in at 5-foot-6, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Lefty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside his shoulders. Shows a vertical body holding the bat just above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise into the body to stride forward while his hands move back into the hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing his hips using his whole body in the process of the swing. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with level barrel action throughout into a high two-handed swing. Demonstrated good plate coverage hitting line drives up the middle and to the opposite field with an inside-out swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH, 1 MPH shy of his personal best mark of 83 MPH set in February 2017. Defensively- Moves well to the baseball with a good approach and quick footwork. Gets underneath the ball and shows a good transition from catch to the throwing position gaining ground throughout the process of the throw. Was accurate with throws and moves well left/right and on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 79 MPH, 3 MPH shy of his previous best mark of 83 MPH set in February 2016.

Campus Series-Albany (July 18, 2017) Grandjean stands in at 6-foot-0, 185-pounds with a strong, lean, athletic frame. Offensively- Righty sets up slightly open with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding his hands just above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise into the body to stride forward while his hands move back into a good hitting position. Has quick hands into the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel path throughout into a high one-handed finish. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in the swing. Demonstrated line drive potential driving the baseball down the left field line and into the left-center gap. Shows a clean, fluid swing with potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 87 MPH. Defensively- Good approach and footwork getting to the baseball. Gets underneath well with an appropriate outfielder arm swing gaining momentum towards intended target. Crow hop mechanics are smooth going through the movement to get into a solid throwing position. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 78 MPH. Talented 2018 prospect still available.
Marist - July 25, 2017

Campus Series-Marist (July 25, 2017) Meland checks in at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds with a strong, thick, athletic frame. Offensively- Righty shows a fluid swing with quick hands to the hitting zone. Utilizes whole-body frame with good lower body rotation and a level barrel path. Demonstrated good plate coverage with the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Clean swing with a lot of potential with more development. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH. Defensively- Shows a good approach and footwork getting underneath the baseball. Good transition from the catch to the throwing position with aggressive footwork towards target. Has an appropriate outfielder arm swing with a strong arm recording a positional arm velocity of 87 MPH. Overall a talented 2019 prospect that will benefit with added development and strength. Prospect coaches should keep an eye on.

Campus Series-Marist (July 18, 2017) Nichols stands in at 5-foot-9, 157-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty shows a fluid swing that is clean and efficient. Has a level barrel path with quick hands and solid lower body rotation that gets whole body frame involved in the process of the swing. Demonstrated good plate coverage with line drive potential to all fields. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH. Defensively- Good approach and footwork to get underneath the baseball. Smooth transition from glove to throwing hand with aggressive footwork towards the intended target. Could align himself up better underneath the baseball with target to have a quicker transition into the throw. Overall a talented 2020 prospect that with added strength and development will be a player to keep an eye on at future events.

Campus Series-Marist (July 25, 2017) Bomba stands in at 6-foot-0, 155-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Lefty shows a quick level swing with line drive potential. Gets good rotation from the lower half with a clean barrel path. Covered the plate well and made solid contact up the middle and to the pull side. Fluid swing with his entire body rotating underneath the chin. Recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively- Good approach and footwork getting to and underneath the baseball in the outfield. Transition from glove to the throw could be quicker and more aggressive towards intended target. Shows a good outfielder arm swing with a strong arm. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 82 MPH. Pitching- Efficient mechanics with loose arm action utilizing whole-body frame. Could stiffen up more on front side to get more dive down the mound. Shows a mid-3/4 release point with god movement. Fastball range is 79-80 MPH and peaking at 81 MPH with arm side run. Curveball was 66-67 MPH with tight 12/6 action. Change-up was 73-74 MPH featuring arm side sink. Kept ball low and could get hitters to swing and miss.
Oswego - Aug 15, 2017

Campus Series-Oswego (August 15, 2017) Wheeler stands 5-foot-7, 150-pounds with signs of durable size from a smaller frame. Offensively- Slightly closed stance, Toe tap back for timing, strides even. Strong and quick to the ball, uses all fields, hard contact with full extension through contact. Exit velocity peaked at 78 MPH. Defensively- Active form the OF, fluid actions to the ball, uses a clean arm-action with carry to the bag, 76 MPH arm-strength.

Defensively - agile footwork, confident body language, gathers body behind the ball, soft hands, smooth and easy transfer with an accurate arm at 86 MPH.
