Today’s player spotlight is on the rising stock of Kevin Sullivan. Sullivan is a lanky 5-foot-11, 160-pound middle infielder from Brother Rice HS. This 2014 graduate has been showing a much improved game over recent months.
We have seen this shortstop’s arm improve to 84 mph across the diamond, as well as cleaning up his swing and staying through the baseball longer.
Sullivan shows solid foot speed in the 60 running a 7.00. Defensively, he shows solid, reliable hands and above average range when moving laterally. Sullivan’s arm works well across the diamond, showing the ability to get rid of the baseball quickly and cleanly, also while on the run.
Offensively, Sullivan hits from the left side, out of a balanced setup using a short stride. His swing is tailored for driving baseballs to the left center gap and is starting to show more extension through contact. He exhibits strong bat speed while showing the ability to find the barrel.
