Stock Report: 2014 Joe Becht

Today’s stock report is on Joe Becht. Becht is a multi-positional standout from Downers Grove South HS where he shows the ability to play both the outfield and middle infield. This 2014 graduate was a West Suburban Gold All-Conference selection after his sophomore campaign for the Mustangs.

We recently saw Becht this fall at the Class of 2014 Showcase where he was ranked in the top 5 outfielders at the event.

Becht is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound multi-positional player who showed true outfield actions moving his feet quickly and aggressively. Becht has some quick twitch actions making a quick, clean exchange while playing through the ball well. His arm is loose and throws from an over the top slot with carry and accuracy at 85 mph.

In the infield Becht showed athletic feet and displayed arm strength of 76 mph, also running a 7.07 60. He shows the ability to release the baseball well while on the move, showing solid range as well.

At the plate Becht hits from the left side out of a crouched setup. He uses a slight leg kick and works the ball to the opposite field well.
