Statistical Analysis: Preseason All State East

On Saturday January 29th PBR of North Carolina hosted it’s Preseason All State East event at Diamond Xtreme in Kernersville, NC. The Preseason All State Events are the top winter events in North Carolina. Each year these events feature some of the top talent from each area of the state. Players ranged from the 2022-2026 grad classes.
Pitchers and catchers were up first. Catchers were able to go through a full defensive workout, throwing through to 2B at the spacious indoor facility. Pitchers threw controlled bullpens with Trackman collecting ball flight analytics. Following the pitchers, infielders and outfielders went through a defensive workout, followed by all of the position players taking live BP in the open atmosphere of Diamond Xtreme with Trackman gathering ball flight data.
Below we begin our breakdown of the players in attendance looking at the top performers in different categories. Look for more statistics and information to follow in the coming days.

By the numbers: Preseason All State East
- 20 players ran a sub 4.00 laser timed 30
- 13 hitters had an exit velo of 95mph or higher
- 4 infield arms topped at 85mph or better
- 7 outfield arms topped at 85mph or better
- 11 catcher arms reached 75mph or higher
- 10 pop times at 2.05 or better
- 11 fastballs at 84.6mph or higher

Statistical Analysis
THE 30 YARD DASH
Ten players ran the 30 yard dash on the turf at Diamond Xtreme with PBR recording times off of the laser timer.
TRACKMAN MAX EXIT VELOCITY (BP)
During BP, TrackMan tracked ball flight off the bat. One element TrackMan is able to produce is the exit velocity. Below are the top Exit Velocities produced during live BP.

Kelvyn Paulino Jr, Ledford, 2025: 101.5 mph
POSITIONAL VELOCITY – INFIELDERS
Infielders were able to simulate defensive plays inside the spacious Diamond Xtreme. The infielder's workout consisted of five live ground balls, making throws across the diamond to first base.
POSITIONAL VELOCITY – OUTFIELDERS
Outfielders worked from a "would be" center field, making throws of close to 130 feet toward home plate.
CATCHER POP TIMES & POSITIONAL VELOCITY
As part of the workout, catchers were able to make a full length throw to 2B allowing scouts and coaches to record pop times and to get a positional velocity out of the crouch.
TRACKMAN INFO - PITCHER BULLPENS
Pitchers threw a controlled bullpen showcasing their full arsenal of pitches. Velocity and spin rate information was gathered off of the TrackMan. TrackMan analytics are the official analytics and the velocities below were captured by TrackMan.
