The 2021 South Carolina State Championships will be played this week.  The Championships feature a best of three series with each team hosting one of the first two games.  The third game will be played at a neutral site if available. 

Games are scheduled for June 1, June 3, and June 5 as necessary for each classification.  Below are the matchups each championship series.

Class 5A State Finals

Hillcrest vs. Summerville

• Summerville will host on Tuesday June 1st
• Hillcrest will host on Thursday June 3rd
• Hillcrest went 3-0 in the District tourney, only giving up 6 runs in their 3 wins
• Hillcrest dominated Dorman in the Upper Finals, outscoring them 18-4 in 2 games
• Summerville went 3-0 in the District Tourney, beating Lexington once & Wando twice
• Summerville jumped out to quick leads in two games in the Lower Finals, holding on to win both by a combined 4 runs

 

Class 4A State Finals

AC Flora vs. James Island

• AC Flora will be at home on Tuesday June 1^st
• James Island will host on Thursday June 3^rd
• AC Flora went 3-0 in the District Tourney, out scoring their opponents 30-6
• Flora held Lugoff-Elgin to 2 runs, while scoring 24 on their way to the State Championship Series
• James Island went 3-1 in the District Tourney, only surrendering 5 runs in the 4 games
• The Trojans used 3 games to get to the State Championship, winning and losing a 1 run game before busting out for 14 runs in the deciding game

 

Class 3A State Finals

West-Oak vs. Gilbert

• Gilbert will be home on Tuesday June 1st
• West-Oak will host on Thursday June 3rd
• West-Oak went 3-1 in the District Tourney, playing all 4 games within 3 runs of their opponent
• West-Oak limited Powdersville to 3 runs in sweeping their 2 games
• Gilbert went 3-0 in the District Tourney, scoring 28 runs in the 3 games
• Gilbert used 5 different arms in sweeping the Lower Finals, advancing to the State Championships

 

Class 2A State Finals

Legion Collegiate vs. Andrew Jackson

• Andrew Jackson will host game 1
• Legion Collegiate will host game 2
• Legion Collegiate went 3-0 in the District Tournament, giving up 3 runs in each win
• Legion Collegiate swept their Upper Finals, giving up 1 run
• Andrew Jackson swept their District Tournament, going 3-0, scoring 39 runs
• Andrew Jackson swept the Lower Finals, throwing 2 shutouts

 

Class 1A State Finals

Southside Christian vs. Lake View

• Southside Christian will host on Tuesday June 1st
• Lake View will host on Thursday June 3rd
• Southside Christian went 4-1 in the District Tourney, scoring 56 runs in the 5 games
• Southside continued the offensive onslaught, scoring 24 runs in the 2 game sweep of the Upper Finals
• Lake View went 3-0 in the District Tourney, only giving up 8 runs in the 3 games
• Lake View swept the Lower Finals, only allowing 3 runs in the 2 games
